I fell in love with Kundalini Yoga because of the beautiful meditations and depth of teachings, and have been sharing the practices of Kundalini Yoga & Meditation, as taught by Yogi Bhajan since 2014, after finding this practice in 2011. My teachers include Gurmukh and Guru Shabid of the Golden Bridge Studio for the Kundalini Yoga Institute Level 1 Training in April 2015, and Hari Kaur Khalsa for Level 2 Lifecycles Kundalini Training in October 2017.

I never outgrew my adventurous spirit and love for learning - which includes my spiritual interests. This seeking lead me to travel for 3 months in 2016 with the Yawanawa Tribe of the Brazilian Amazon, including living with the tribe in the Mutum Village of Acre, Brazil for two weeks under the care of Paje Tata, the 102 year old shaman. I love finding peace and depth in many forms of meditation, and completed a 10 day silent meditation course in Vipassana, as taught by S.N. Goenka, in September 2017.

Yoga translates to union; Kundalini Yoga and Meditation uses mantra, mudra, asana, and breathing techniques to attain the union of the body, mind, spirit and align the chakra system.

Kundalini Kirtan: Power of the Naad

Celebrating 1 year this August of a traveling community in New York City. With the shared belief that every voice is a force of healing technology, we share leadership in singing these sacred starseed currents. We are Aquarian leaders, meaning anyone can lead the group in a chant; we are all teachers & learners in this sangat. Who is in the New York sangat? You are! "Sangat" means community, and we strengthen our relations by gathering. Bring an instrument and a snack to share.

Impact and Recommendations

"What an amazing energy and calmness I was able to feel at my first Kundalini class. Karla is absolutely amazing at what she does. She has the ability to transfer you at the physical and mental state that you need to reach while at the class. Definitely recommend her!" - Tina T.

"I've been practicing Kundalini for years and having Karla as a teacher was a true pleasure. She listened to me talk about what was going on in my life and tailored the class towards my needs. I was definitely sore the next day, but more importantly, felt uplifted mentally and spiritually. Highly recommend!" - Margaux A.

"I had the fortune of taking a Kundalini Yoga class with Karla. What I loved about her teaching style was the way she integrated her classical knowledge with a contemporary vibe. For someone who had never taken this style of yoga before, it felt welcoming, intriguing, invigorating and peaceful. I not only felt increasingly centered as the class progressed, but the way in which she taught breath techniques and physical postures seemed to stick in my memory, and I have since accessed them when I need a burst of energy or a moment to ground. I think part of the reason why I am able to apply ancient wisdom in a practical fashion is that Karla has genuinely taken the time to study the Kundalini teachings. Her dedication is clearly reflected in her own demeanor, which is: poised, graceful, peaceful, kind and present to name a few. I feel inspired to continue learning about the Kundalini practice and I feel lucky to have found a practitioner who has a teaching style I resonate with. I would definitely recommend taking a class or workshop with Karla. - Keelyn R.

"I have been practicing yoga for about five years now, but mostly vinyasa flow. I decided to try out a class with Karla to learn more about Kundalini Yoga and its meditative properties. Karla started out the class telling me a little about the practice and its history and then we dug into some mantras and breathing techniques. I loved all her positive energy and enthusiasm for kundalini yoga; you can tell it is something that she loves practicing and sharing. She guided me gently into the different poses, and by the end, I felt refreshed, present, and inspired. I would highly recommend Karla if you are at all interested in deepening your yoga practice." - Nisha G.

"I had a deep yoga and meditation session with Karla. She was confident in her practice and very supportive of me as new student. Her instructions were clear and deliberate. It was challenging at times, and she was always aware when I was struggling and provided immediate encouragement. I highly recommend Karla. And as a wonderful bonus, she ends the session with singing soulful phrases." - Jamie M.

"I have had the pleasure of taking Karla's Kundalini Yoga classes a number of times over the past year. She has the gift of elevating the energy in the room allowing you to fully embrace the practice. Her guided meditations allow you to open your heart, and raise your vibrations." - Courtney C.
